Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls

Are you concerned about falling or limiting activities because of a fear of falling? Matter of Balance is an evidence-based program designed to help older adults gain confidence, improve balance, and stay active.

During this interactive 8-session workshop, participants learn practical strategies to reduce the risk of falls, set realistic goals for increasing activity, and practice simple exercises that improve strength and balance. The program also helps participants view falls as something that can be managed and prevented, rather than an inevitable part of aging.

Matter of Balance is ideal for older adults who:

  • Are concerned about falls
  • Have experienced a fall in the past
  • Restrict activities due to fear of falling
  • Want to improve strength, balance, and confidence
  • Class Schedule: July 7, July 9, July 21, July 23, July 28, July 30, August 4, August 6

Participants will leave with valuable tools to help them remain independent, active, and engaged in their daily lives.
