Tentative schedule (it’s subject to change):
8:00 – 9:00 Setup and Registration
9:00 – 9:10 Welcome and intro to smoker contest
9:10 – 9:20 Smoker contest
Smoker contest rules: 1. Can only use natural materials that can be used on bees. 2. Will light smoker and then come back after the first two presentations. 3. Not allowed to mess with smokers during presentations. 4. Smoker that produces most smoke after 20 pumps or less of the billows will be winner.
9:20 – 9:55 Joys of Beekeeping
10:05 – 10:30 Protective Clothing
10:30 – 10:40 Smoker Contest finale
10:50 – 11:20 Obtaining Bees
11:25 – Noon Essential Beekeeping Equipment
Noon – 12:30 First 3 years of Beekeeping
12:30 – 1:00 Hive Inspection Basics
