4-H STEM

In an ever-changing, increasingly complex world, it’s more important than ever that our nation’s youth are prepared to bring knowledge and skills to solve problems, make sense of information, and know how to gather and evaluate evidence to make decisions. These are the kinds of skills that students develop in science, technology, engineering, and math, including computer science—disciplines collectively known as STEM.

Extension helps prepare future leaders, neighbors, and workers to understand and solve some of the complex challenges of today and tomorrow and to meet the demands of the dynamic and evolving workforce.

“4-H Powering Watt’s Next”

4-H Electric Camp will be held June 23 – June 26, 2026 on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus. At this exciting camp, you will explore the world of energy, electricity, energy conservation, electrical safety, and other basic sciences in fun-filled, “hands-on” learning activities. This year’s learning activities include: Flying a Drone, Powering VOLt City, Robotics, Wiring an Extension Cord, Electrical Safety, and Electric Motors.

4-H Electric camp is a fun-filled, rewarding adventure in electricity for girls and boys enrolled in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. 4-H members who attended Electric Camp in previous years are eligible to return.
