Agriculture

Commercial vegetable, commercial fruit, forestry, pasture, hay, wildlife, fisheries, horse and beef management infromation available for farmers and agribusinesses.

Horticulture

Horticultural information available for commercial horticulture industry and homeowners. Master Gardener training, plant disease and insect diagnostics, fertilizer recommendations, lawn management, and weed control.

Distance Diagnostics

Samples of insects or diseased plants can be brought in to the office. The images are then digitized with cameras and microscope and submitted to the University of Tennessee Diagnostics Lab and receive the results back within one day.

Soil Testing
Contact: W. Gregg Upchurch
Soil samples can be brought in to the office and shipped to the University of Tennessee Soils Lab to determine ph and fertilizer needs. Collect samples from at least 10 locations in the area to be tested and place them in a clean container to transport them to our office. It takes 1/2 pint of soil to fill the box and costs $7.00 per sample. Your results are returned anywhere from 10-14 days.
